Administrative Committee
A panchayat will have a panchayat president, vice president, four standing committee chairmen and panchayat members. In addition to all this, there will also be gram sabhas to ensure public participation in village administration. The president and vice president lead the panchayat administrative committee. It also includes four standing committees namely finance, education, health and welfare. The chairman of the finance committee will generally be the panchayat vice president. Each panchayat member will be a member of any one of the standing committees.

Officials
The panchayat secretary will lead the administration. The secretary is appointed by the state government. The main responsibility of the secretary is to implement the panchayat policies, schemes and decisions. In addition, various departments like public works department, health department and administration department also function at the panchayat level.

The administration of the Gram Panchayats in Kerala is carried out by the Department of Local Self-Government at the Government Secretariat level, implemented at the State level through the Panchayat Directorate, and supervised by the Joint Director of the Department of Local Self-Government at the District level.
